Dead, White and Blue (Mike Davis, USA, 2025)
|
Director Mike Davis has developed a process of "green filmmaking" by recycling stock footage from old US government, education and industrial movie reels and dubbing in new dialogue and sound to create an original and often ridiculous new storyline. Dead, White and Blue uses this green filmmaking technique to create a satirical blaxploitation themed retro action comedy that takes aim at the absurdity of American racism. In the film a rogue FBI agent named Kwame Blackstone teams up with the United States Army to defeat the KKK, who have invaded the body of an innocent black man killed by a racist cop.
Trigger Warning: This film uses satire and stock film footage to critique racism in American society. Some scenes or language may be deemed unsettling. Viewer discretion is advised. |
